Spent five minutes selecting the “charge and sync” device for phone at the local store. Mostly due to the lack of knowledge–but, once I found the correct item, I had choice of colors. A thirty second dilemma. Nevertheless, satisfaction was found and the purchase made.
The back of the box reads: Charge and sync your device rapidly and safely. Perfect. Speed and safety wrapped up in this cord.
Do you ever feel drained? Physically and spiritually? Do you wish you had a “charge and sync” device that promised to be fast and safe?
Recharging spiritual batteries is necessary…and it requires a cord: God’s strength, not our own.
As Paul prays for the Ephesians:
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.–Eph. 3:16-19
Some steps to help you do this–
- Reconnect with people you love (family, friends, neighbors)
- Find a mentor (“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17)
- Restore your physical health. (diet, exercise, sleep)
- Take time for yourself (turn off the TV, read)
- Renew your mindset (say nothing negative, praise your relatives, friends, love your neighbor)
- Ask God to help you in all these…..
Charge and Sync
Oh yes….I opened the box when I got home–someone had taken the product (yes, shoplifted) and all I had was an empty package!!! Good thing I was “charged up” with a power that is greater than what the pink cable was going to provide!
Pray: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
Power requires a cord…..help me remember that dear Lord….
